Basic Info
Name:Elizabeth Tudor
Location:New York City, New York, United States
Bio
A Dominum factum est illud, et est mirabile in oculis notris

Name: Elizabeth Tudor

Aliases: Elizabeth Dudley, Katherine Raleigh, Virginia Roberts

Current Name: Liz Dudley

Current Profession: Owner of several businesses, primarily a real estate firm that specializes in holdings for fellow Immortals, creating ways to buy and sell properties without raising suspicions. She also owns an interior decorating business.

Born: 1533 – given by Edward Percy to Anne Boleyn to pass off as her own child with Henry VIII. After Henry found out about Anne being Immortal and unable to bear children, he had her falsely charged with adultery and treason, then banished Elizabeth from the court. In later years, her last stepmother, Katherine Parr, sought to repair relations between Henry and his daughters, thus Elizabeth and Mary returned to the court until Henry’s death.

First Death: 1554 – stabbed in the back by a fanatical Spaniard, who had been smuggled into the Tower by Catholics seeking to rid Queen Mary of her younger sister. Mary felt guilt over the attack, and allowed Elizabeth to return to Hatfield under house arrest.

History: Upon Mary’s death, Elizabeth ascended to the throne. The treasury was drained, Spain and France were a political threat, and everyone expected her to choose a husband. Elizabeth had Sir Francis Walsingham brought to her court, in order to train her in self defense and to protect her. Walsingham, also an Immortal, is believed to be the one who urged Elizabeth not to marry, because it would be inevitable that her immortality would be discovered, and it would expose her and all Immortals to public scrutiny. Additionally, the man that Elizabeth loved and truly wanted to marry, Lord Robert Dudley, was married. Even when Dudley’s wife died in a mysterious accident, Elizabeth refused marriage, wisely knowing that the scandal would be detrimental to her already shaky monarchy.

However, Elizabeth was hardly a “Virgin Queen”. It is believed that she was seduced by her stepmother Katherine’s husband, Thomas Seymour, and that Katherine herself caught them in bed together when Elizabeth was only 15 years old. Katherine had her sent away, and later died after childbirth. Seymour was later executed for treason, after he attempted to wrest power from his brother, the Lord Protector, and trying to marry Elizabeth. It is said that young Elizabeth remarked wryly, “Today died a man of much wit, and very little judgment”. It would appear that Elizabeth took the lessons of her father’s treatment of women, especially his wives, and her early lessons with Seymour, to heart, and has, in fact, never married to this day.

Elizabeth also had the good sense to avoid troublesome family issues. When her “mother”, Anne Boleyn, returned to England, from her exile in France, Elizabeth demanded that she leave the country. Walsingham, himself, had to intervene between the two Immortals, and had Anne removed, shipped off to the Americas. Walsingham wisely knew that the two volatile women could not remain in the same hemisphere. As one of Elizabeth’s most trusted allies, Sir Francis is largely credited for many of her greatest successes, with his incredible political savvy and diplomacy. He also did most of her dirty work for her, in matters of espionage. It was Walsingham who helped Elizabeth engineer the downfall and death of her cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots. Elizabeth came out of the matter looking like the victim, who had no choice but to execute the scheming woman, but the truth is that Mary had been set up for her destruction, if not necessarily for her death.

Through the artful use of makeup and padding, Elizabeth carried on her reign, until she was sure that James was ready for succession. Then, they arranged her “death” and quick burial, and she went to live in what is now the British Virgin Islands. She still owns a large estate on Tortola. Walsingham had gone to the region in 1590, and together they became wealthy landowners and business partners. He is still a close friend and partner, but there is no evidence of a sexual relationship.

Personality: Subject is vain, arrogant, selfish and demanding. She is also intelligent, social and has a wonderful sense of humor. Elizabeth is known for her caustic humor, and voracious sexual appetites. Like her mother, she was one of the most educated women of her generation, and she continues her studies today. She’s a good dancer and poetess, and enjoys plays, music and film. Her temper is violent, and she bears hard grudges for even the most innocent of slights. She has created a great deal of wealth, and she is very attached to material possessions.

Weapons: Elizabeth carries a gun, and a Tudor era double edge sword, believed to have been worn by Dudley. She also keeps a dagger handy. She is not a headhunter, though she has defensively fought.

Current residence: She owns a loft apartment in the Tribeca area of New York City.

Relationships: She is currently close friends with Rupert Giles, and he is residing in her loft at this time. They have opened a magic shop in the city, with her financial backing.

On monsieur's departure
I grieve and dare not show my discontent,
I love and yet am forced to seem to hate,
I do, yet dare not say I ever meant,
I seem stark mute but inwardly do prate.
I am and not, I freeze and yet am burned,
Since from myself another self I turned.
My care is like my shadow in the sun,
Follows me flying, flies when I pursue it,
Stands and lies by me, doth what I have done.
His too familiar care doth make me rue it.
No means I find to rid him from my breast,
Till by the end of things it be supprest.
Some gentler passion slide into my mind,
For I am soft and made of melting snow;
Or be more cruel, love, and so be kind.
Let me or float or sink, be high or low.
Or let me live with some more sweet content,
Or die and so forget what love ere meant.

OOC: Elizabeth is a character, created by me, for the Highlander fictional universe, based on the real person, Elizabeth I of England. She is portrayed by Cate Blanchett, and I make no profit for this exercise in creative writing. Certain liberties have been taken with history in order to fictionalize her for this project. This is my view, and my view alone.
